Sushi-san is now open in Chicago’s River North and if you’ve checked Instagram lately you may be seeing its signature dessert, Emochi, poppin’ up on your feed. Emochi is dessert-meets art: Japanese pounded sticky rice (mochi) with an ice cream filling. From there a sugar face (emoji) which are all sketched by our in-house illustrator Alex Payne, are applied by hand to each piece of mochi. The flavors rotate seasonally and currently Sushi-san offers up Lychee Colada, Strawberry White Chocolate and Mandarin Orange. The team is working on more than 25 different flavors so be sure to come back and try them!
